In this 4 week class, new students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay on the potter’s wheel as well as handbuilding techniques. Students will walk through the entire ceramics process of throwing, building, surface decoration, firing, and glazing.

Intermediate Students can work at their own skill level. The Process is the same. Classes are small so everyone gets attention.

Clay, glaze, and shared studio tool use is all included in the class fee. Classes are subject to rescheduling due to inclement weather.

Schedule starting the first week of the month:

Week 1: throwing/centering on the wheel

Week 2: trimming/additions/handles

Week 3: hand-building basics. *** in November our 3rd class falls on Thanksgiving Day so we will give you the opportunity to join another class THAT WEEK in order to keep our schedule on target. You will have options to choose from.

Week 4: glazing
